no words just thoughts...

aaj khayal fir aaya, kuch arse tak to sahi tha,
tera chehra aaj fir se zahan main chala aaya.
hum to yun hi samay se lad rahe the,
teri khushboo nain humko humi se bhulaya.

khuch yaadein chali aayi, fir kuch muskurahte dohrai,
aadmi kya kisi ko bhool sakta hai.
jisse do pyaar ki baatein karta tha,
tum yaad karo na karo, tumhari yaadein khud ba khud chali aayi.

For the language challenged-->

For sometime I was doing okay,
but your thought came and your face walked in the soul today.
Until now I was fighting with the time,
Your scent made me forget my existence.

Some thoughts came back, Some smiles passed again
how can one forget you
the way we used to talk night and day
Your thought just came back, you remember me or not today.

...this is for those that have been away from their loved ones.

The malpractise of buying materials at a much higher price just so that you get to have it for the present is the worst practise of business anyone can ever do. With the increasing debt, if you do not calculate the time in which you can repay your loan which is another practise that you should avoid. Before you make a deal you should always calculate the profit you are going to make on that deal and the time it is going to take to get all your invested money back. The laws of business state clearly that if you are unaware of the state of the company never rely completely on it. You should always have a second door which you can use in case of emergency.

Oh, just for the strong heart people out there. The US is under 7.612 trillion debt as of today. So, that means that a new born in this country owes 100,000 Dollars to the government. Now, I have found out that the Chinese Companies have started to deal in European banks instead of American just so that they can deal directly with Euros. If this keeps on, then in short span we might see dollar loosing it's International market value. Call me crazy, but who would want to deal with dollars if dollar has no international credentials and stability.

I want to explain my theory about why we are seing this day....the downfall of Dollar. Well, I think that it all started when American factories started closing and shifting to the third world countries for cheaper manufacturing connflicts. The American Economy was a consumer and producer economy. It was driven by both the factors....Now, when the factories got shifted, the revenue was generated only in the form of profits as all the low and medium level jobs were shipped with the industries. Eventually the people stopped caring whether they could afford to buy the new plasma tv and bought it anyways on their low anuual rate credit card. They thought they would be allright if they just keep paying the minimum fees. Well, so to pay 50$ they had to pay 80$ and take 2/3 more time. The economy was obviously showing effects. Now....there is practically no production and the whole economy is driven by consumption leading to an never ending, ever increasing debt.

Somebody asked me if there is a solution to this problem. Well, not unless the factories are reopened with whoever wants his/her job back with lesser benefits and low hourly wages. But, atleast they would have a job. Now, when the factories start producing quality products again they will bring a boost in the revenue and the government won't cry about having no money for things like social security.

How is all this gonna happen? Well, the government will have to support the owners for big firms and assure their support at all times. The owners themselves should work for the betterment of the people of their own nation.

Good News...

Me and my friend Nate have just won the Intramural Championship for Table Tennis yesterday! Both of us have waited for 2 years to win something and I am not lying.... We started playing Intramural Pool for the past 2 years and always lost in the championship match (the final match). That was always the most infuriating moment in our lives. I think we used to crack in the last match even though we could win all those times. See, you have to play with 3 groups, each a best of three tournament. Now, we would always loose against the third group in the final match!!!

But this time, I told him, that WE are winning nomatter what it takes. We won the first two groups with close matches. But, against the third group, we lost the first match under 10...that was pretty bad. But, we pulled it together in the finest moment of our lives...and we kicked ass and won the championship. Now, to prove that we won, we are getting the Intramural Champion T-shirt and to bring more glory to ourselves, we are taking part in the Intramural RacquetBall Tournament. There were few people that I have lost against in racquetball and there have been moments when I knocked my opponent silly (including Nate). So, even though we are pretty good and there is a good chance that we might win and I hope we do, I am not holding on my will to get another T-shirt.

Some news about excise

Steel, cement, petroleum products, automobiles and auto components are the five items that top the list of corporate India’s Budget-eve agenda for excise duty cut to boost demand generation and investments in the economy.

The survey notes that tax breaks trigger investments through the multiplier effect. In India, the value of the multiplier stands at 4, i.e. with every rupee of investment, four rupees worth of GDP is generated.

The feedback from a range of companies reveals that a third of them (31%) would want an excise duty cut on steel, followed by cement 25%, petroleum products 24%, and automobiles and automotive components 21% each.

Corporate bosses, thus feel that the government would do well to consider these commodities for an excise reduction in the forthcoming Budget as this would boost demand and investments in industries.

...So what does this means for everybody, if the "Government" considers all these excise cuts. Well, more money in your pocket if your an investor or a commercial player. This is just "news", something to get excited about....

Ahem...I do have a link about the bankruptcies in the US past 1997. I think everyone should check them out just to pay some homage to the US Steel Industry.

Watch out for Hyundai

" Hyundai won the 2003 Global Automotive Shareholder Value Award presented by PriceWaterhouse Coopers and Automotive News.

It is now ranked seventh in the world in vehicle sales and controls more than 70 percent of the domestic market. Hyundai began shedding its image as a cheap carmaker in 2000 when it shipped the Santa Fe SUV, or sport utility vehicle, in the United States. It sold 111,447 Santa Fes last year in the United States.

Hyundai sold 419,000 cars last year in the United States, up 4.6 percent from a year ago. In January, the company opened a 60 million dollar testing center in California. The 1,750-hectare (4,300 acre) facility followed years of surveying US consumer tastes. in Europe, the Hyundai-Kia group says it hopes to open a 1.24 billion dollar plant in Slovakia late this year.

"Among other overseas production bases, Hyundai plans to set up its second auto plant in India by 2007 to boost capacity from 250,000 units to 400,000."

In China, the company saw sales rise sharply to 144,000 units in 2004, two years after it opened its first joint venture there. It has announced a 940 million dollar investment plan to boost the capacity of its China facilities to 600,000 units a year. "

So what does this mean for India and the US. Well, personally I will never invest in Indian market unless I was planning to overthrow or takeover the Government. But, this looks like another huge investment in India which would affect more flow of steel in the country as 70% of car's frame is made up of mainly steel. This means, well by 2007, prices of steel going up but in a good way for the Indian Economy (if Laloo Prasad Yadav doesn't shit on it by then...). The U.S. is looking for a tough times ahead and so is it's car industry. With new big boys like Hyundai Motors and Kia Motors, popular brands like Ford and Dodge might have to give up a big piece of the pie. Personally, I have seen Hyundai Motors delievering one good car after another which makes impossible to look beyond it.

So, if one of my friends "grown-up" dream is to buy a Hyundai Sedan, well, all I can do is smile and tell him that he is making a right desicion....

Steel slowdown is only temporary....or is it ?

"AS FIROZ: While iron ore and coal prices continue to scare steel makers globally, trends in steel prices are not very comfortable either. There is already a strong fear that steel prices are all set to decline from the second quarter.

The forecast is based on the their observed weakness in January when going by seasonal trends, one should have seen strong increases instead. The US prices have dropped sharply from the September highs and are lying stagnant since December.

It is no different in Europe. Although the Chinese domestic market prices are up 5-7%, they are still way below those in Europe or the US. With the Chinese mills exporting more, even flat products, there is added attention to the theory that steel prices may crash by April, although getting to such a conclusion may not be as easy as is seen."

NO. It doesn't look not so tough to believe. With China reaching its optimum consumption capacity and declining slowly we are sure to see a decline in the steel costs. Earlier, US market was making good profit after the spurge in China's Economy. But now, the market should go back to being a consumer market by the end of April. If I had any stocks in steel and oil, this would be the perfect time to cash them out!

I have always been interested in looking at our past. We forget that we are one of the oldest civilization still present today. We forget that curses like Democracy and Politics origintated from India. Why, Chess came from India !

I just posted link to some Maharajas with their pictures and some factoids about them. If anybody is interested in looking they are most welcome. If they just want to look about how we used to dress up back 100 years from now, now is the chance...

If anybody has any comments to talk about my link here, please say so. And you know, its history so is true and valid.
